Power Sources

Air Compressor Power Sources
Power to drive the air compressor comes from one of two sources.

Electricity: Electric air compressors are best used in enclosed areas where gas fumes pose a danger. Be aware you must check the compressor’s required voltage and phase. There are available on the market 230 Volt, single-phase OR 200, 230 or 460 Volt, 3-phase compressors. Incorrect use could damage the compressor or the electricity supply or the operator!

Gasoline: Gas-powered air compressors suit job site pneumatic applications where electrical power is not available. They are usually more robust and durable but they can run out of gas at the worst possible moment and there is the fire hazard side of things to consider.
